World’s Best Organic Coffee

A cup of good coffee puts a little comfort in a workday morning. But did you know conventional coffee is one of the most heavily chemically treated crops in the world? If you are drinking conventional coffee, you are poisoning yourself — and you are not exactly contributing to the health and wellbeing of the farmer or the planet, either. Add to that the way conventional coffee is grown, by slashing down forests and planting hybrid crops that can handle the direct sunlight (thereby dramatically reducing the antioxidant content), the inferior flavor profile, the high acid due to growing practices and lower nutrient levels — and you have a very compelling set of reasons to treat yourself to the good stuff.

We carry the beloved Equal Exchange organic coffees in French Roast, Mind Body Soul, Breakfast Blend, Love Buzz, Decaf, and Decaf French Roast. We carry Mount Hagen organic instant coffee and decaf. We carry Life Extension’s organic Rainforest Blend coffee (our recommended choice for coffee enemas). We carry Kicking Horse organic dark decaf. We have coffee substitutes such as the Four Sigmatic organic medicinal mushroom-based coffees. And, for true coffee connoisseurs, we have the king of all coffees, which has totally ruined all other coffees for us: Exotic Bean’s organic medium roast, dark roast, estate blend, peaberry, espresso, and decaf. Low acid, this coffee requires no sweetener whatsoever and boasts rich, complex flavors and superior levels of antioxidants — in two words, per our trials, coffee heaven.

Boxed Tea

Herbal teas combine the comfort of a warm or chilled drink with the gentle healing power of plants. From calming chamomile to invigorating peppermint, a cup of tea can set the mood or help an anxious child fall asleep. While we carry a wide variety of loose herbs for use as teas and poultices, boxed teas have the advantage of ease of use (and an attractive cabinet or countertop display). Several brands such as Yogi, Bigelow, Trader Joe’s, and Uncle Lee have recently emerged as high in toxic metals such as lead and fluoride. A popular Rockwall brand is high in other additives. We do not carry those brands.

We carry Traditional Medicinals organic teas in Breathe Easy, Dandelion, Echiinacea, Every Day Detox, Ginger Aid, Hawthorne & Hibiscus, Lemon Balm, Licorice, Mothers Milk, Nettle, Pregnancy, Raspberry, Smooth Move, Stress Ease, Throat Coat, Nighty Night, and Valerian. We have Numi’s Turmeric Three Roots and Chocolate Pu-erh teas, Organic India’s Tulsi Moringa, Ashwagandha, and Hibiscus teas, Prince of Peace’s Black, Green, and Oolong teas, Heath and Heather’s Green Tea & Ginger, Rishi’s Elderberry Healer, Lavender Mint, and Matcha SuperGreen teas, Equal Exchange’s English Breakfast and Decaf, Green Tea, Peppermint, Black, Earl Grey, and Chai. We carry Newman’s Own Black tea. We have matcha tea in various forms, Chanca Piedra, Cat’s Claw, several wellness blends, and more. We do not carry rooibos tea due to its common use in controlling victims via its high nickel content.

Smoothie Mixes

Sometimes you want the nutrient content and cool pleasure of a smoothie, but you just don’t have time to put it all together. We have you covered!

We carry Noka’s line of organic, ready-to-drink superfood smoothies including their Cherry Acai, Blueberry Beet (yay, veggies and yay, circulation!), Blackberry Vanilla, Mango Coconut, and Strawberry Pineapple. We have Sunfood’s Superfood Smoothe Mixes in Berry and Chocolate. We have Genius organic chilled smoothies in Vanilla Cinnamon and occasionally other flavors. We carry Rebbl’s organic chilled Elixirs and Protein drinks in Reishi Chocolate, Cold Brew, Maca Mocha, Hazelnut Chocolate Protein, and Dark Chocolate Protein. And, of course, we can whip you up the cream-of-the-crop best smoothie in town at the Grass-Fed Grill if you shop weekdays between 9 and 2!

Bottled Juices

We rarely drink bottled juice ourselves. Face it; while some minerals remain, most of the nutrient value is gone once juice is pasteurized. However, if you get a hankering for a cool glass of apple juice on a hot summer afternoon, or you need cranberry juice to help fight a UTI, or you are making a piña colada — well, you certainly don’t want pesticides and other chemicals in that juice. Enter the real deal, preserved in glass, by ethical companies, as safely as may be.

We carry the Lakewood line of organic juices, including their Apple, Concord Grape, Cranberry, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Pink Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Prune, and Tart Cherry. We have Santa Cruz’s organic Lemonades and Knudsen’s organic Tomato Juice. In the chiller we keep individual sized organic pineapple juice, sparkling apple cider, lemonade, and coconut water, as well as Uncle Matts family-sized organic Orange Juice. At the holidays we carry Martinelli’s fabulous Honeycrisp Sparkling Apple Cider, without which our family’s feast just would not be the same.

Chilled Beverages

One wonders how the Pioneers survived our hot Texas summers without air conditioning and refrigeration. Makes one feel downright wimpy and short on horses. When the thermometer begins to climb, out come the chilled drinks. And we have a lot to choose from, without compromising your health and longevity or feeding cancers or throwing off your hormones.

In the Grab ‘n Go beverage chiller, we have Roar Electrolyte Infusions in Blueberry Acai, Cucumber Watermelon, Georgia Peach, and Mango Clementine. We have Sunwink’s Digestion in Lemon and their Sparking Waters in Hibiscus Mint and Detox Ginger. We have Steaz’s Antioxidant Brew in Yerba Mate and Cloud’s Blackberry Lemon Water. We have various teas including Zevia’s Lemon Tea and Raspberry Tea and Just Tea’s Original and Moroccan Mint. We have Flow Water in Strawberry Rose and Cucumber Mint. We carry Culture Soda Pop in a few flavors for the closest we can get to a safe soda. We carry various brands of kombucha including Buddha Brew, Live Soda, and GT’s. Waters include Mountain Valley Spring Water and Sparkling Water (no detectable “forever chemicals”), Crazy Water, and Fiji Water.

Hot Chocolate and Others

There is hot chocolate. Then there is our hot chocolate. Rich, dark, not-too-sweet, and just the right thing on a cool fall night. Chocolate is one of the most heavily sprayed crops, so you definitely want any chocolate you eat to be organic. Not dutched, with no sulfites, no GMO’s, no iffy stuff. Yes, we carry other brands — but save yourself the taste comparison and just buy the good stuff. 🙂
